Changelog

Platform changes to upAPI — new operations, gateway behaviour, SDK and MCP releases — newest first, with an RSS feed.

What changed on the platform, newest first. Only changes you can observe as a caller: new operations, gateway behaviour, client releases, documentation surfaces. Per-operation detail lives on each marketplace listing.

Google Maps reviews

  • google-maps-reviews.get is live — place reviews with author, rating, full text, photo counts and both relative and ISO timestamps, with cursor pagination and four sort orders. Weight 6.
  • That completes the Maps category: search, place details and reviews.

Docs at upapi.io/docs, Maps operations, MCP Registry listing

  • These docs are now served at upapi.io/docs. The old docs.upapi.io host redirects here permanently, so existing links keep working.
  • Agent-facing surface: /docs/llms.txt, /docs/llms-full.txt, and a Markdown twin of every page at <page>.md. Each page also carries copy-as-Markdown and open-in-assistant actions.
  • The calling operations page ships a live request builder — pick an operation, paste a key, and it calls api.upapi.io from the browser.
  • google-maps-search.post (weight 6) and google-maps-place.get (weight 4) are live.
  • The MCP server is listed in the public MCP Registry as io.github.DevinoSolutions/upapi-mcp.

SDK and MCP server published to npm

  • @upapi/sdk and @upapi/mcp are on npm, published with build provenance attestations.
  • Both packages are open source, so the client that holds your API key can be read before you install it.

File and browser operations, idempotency, MCP tool facade

  • Seven operations: screenshot.post, html-to-pdf.post, fetch-markdown.post, pdf-extract-text.post, image-ocr.post, audio-transcribe.post and audio-transcribe-result.get.
  • Operations that take a file accept base64 input or a presigned upload, and the docs and dashboard forms render a file picker for both.
  • Idempotency-Key is honoured on every gateway call: a replay returns the first response and re-executes nothing.
  • Rate-limit responses split by cause — RATE_LIMITED for the per-minute burst, QUOTA_EXCEEDED for the monthly and trial budgets — and every response carries IETF RateLimit headers alongside the legacy X-RateLimit-* ones.
  • The gateway answers cross-origin requests, so a browser can call it directly.
  • The MCP server defaults to a compact tool facade (search_ops plus call_op) instead of one tool per operation, and tokens carry scopes.

Documentation rebuilt around the platform

  • The docs teach the platform — one request shape, one error envelope, one quota — instead of restating every operation. Per-operation reference lives on each marketplace listing.

TypeScript SDK, MCP server and this documentation site

  • @upapi/sdk: a typed, zero-dependency client generated from the operation catalog.
  • @upapi/mcp: every public operation as an MCP tool, over stdio or a hosted endpoint at app.upapi.io/api/mcp with OAuth 2.1 and PKCE.
  • This documentation site.
